Kathmandu.

In the Nepali Congress, election sabotage is an old disease. Leaders from the center to the states admit that the disease is still present in the local level elections this time. Party spokesperson Dr. Listening to the views of Prakasaran Mahat and the state presidents, the sabotage has increased this time.

They claim that the Congress has been defeated even in the place where it has to win due to lack of internal unity. Leaders say that the main reason for the defeat in some of the places where they have won alone in the past is internal. “The sabotage is widespread. If there was no sabotage, another 50 seats would have been added for the Congress, ”said spokesperson Mahat. Congress has won 329 seats in the municipality.
As the election has just ended, the Congress is in the process of internal study. According to Mahat, verbal reports are coming from districts. In Gandaki, the provincial committee has sent a team to conduct a secret study in all the districts, said its chairman Shukra Raj Sharma.

The leaders have the understanding that Madhes has suffered the most. Madhes state president Krishna Yadav said that sabotage had taken place in eight districts.

Even if it is found that the election was rigged, the body to take action has not been formed at the center. Joint General Minister Bhishmaraj Aangdembe informed that a decision has not been reached despite discussions on forming a new disciplinary committee. Aangdembe was the coordinator of the Disciplinary Committee before the 14th General Convention. He said that discussions have been held in the Disciplinary Committee on appointing one of the Deputy Chairman or General Secretary as the coordinator but no conclusion has been reached.

According to Andembe, in case the Deputy Chairman or the General Secretary does not become the coordinator of the Disciplinary Committee, the decision will be made by one of the central members. Leaders do not want to be the coordinator of the Disciplinary Committee as much as possible for fear of controversy while taking disciplinary action.

Spokesperson Mahat said that the meeting of the Central Committee would review the sabotage within the party. Stating that reports of sabotage are still coming, spokesperson Mahat informed that the formation of a disciplinary committee will be discussed in the meeting of the Central Committee. A meeting of the Central Committee has not been convened yet.

While communicating with the presidents of the five states, everyone said that they were sabotaged. He understands that he has to face defeat even in the place where he can win due to the problems within the party. Among the state presidents, Uddhav Thapa of State 1, Krishna Yadav of Madhes, Shukra Raj Sharma of Gandaki, Lalit Jung Shahi of Karnali and Bir Bahadur Balayer of Far West said that sabotage was not normal.

Here is the conversation with the five state presidents of the Nepali Congress regarding the sabotage in their own words.

More sabotage in Morang: Uddhav Thapa (State 1 President)

We are in the process of reviewing the election of Province 1. We are preparing to form the District Coordination Committee after the election of the executive.

In State 1, the Congress has done better than expected. If we could have added internal management within the coalition and the party, we would have won in other places as well. We also lost some of the places we had won earlier. Problems within the party were the reason for the resurgence. The sabotage is the tradition and characteristic of the Congress. This has been happening within the party.

The center will decide what to do in the place of sabotage. We proceed with the process as directed by the Center. The sabotage within the party was seen more in Morang. Friends were not interested in forming a good alliance. Friends within the party did not support their candidate. While others looked good overall, the problem of sabotage was more prevalent in Morang.

Invasion in eight districts: Krishna Yadav, Madhes state president

The number of Congress seats in Madhes has increased more than before. It could have been won in more places than this. We have succeeded in becoming the first party in Madhes.

The attitude of the people towards the Congress is also right. What to say outside the party. We lost some seats in Madhes because of within the party. Everywhere in Madhes they try to defeat themselves. Whoever managed to resist the attack won. He who cannot, loses. There has been a strong attack in some districts from within the party. There has been a weak attack somewhere. Attacks have been carried out from within the party in eight districts of Madhesh Pradesh.

If all the Congress had been united, Parsa, Siraha, Saptari, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Rautahat and Bara would have won more. The internal strife was lost in the place where it could be won. The Congress candidates started losing due to their own party’s affiliation. This is the misfortune of our party. We had given the ticket based on the discussions of the district leaders. However, the Congress could not agree. They are openly losing themselves. If the sabotage had not been in Madhesh Pradesh, we would have easily won 100 seats.

We have formed a team to study the sabotage: Shukraraj Sharma, Gandaki state president

Satisfactory in Gandaki. The alliance could not be good all over the state. It was difficult to implement even in the places where there was an alliance.

Congress could not win in some of the previous seats. We could not explain the essence of coordination. We also lost in some places due to internal reasons. We could not win the deputy mayor in Pokhara metropolis due to lack of internal management. In the metropolis, we are in the minority.

There were also internal problems. We could not form alliances in some places. Deputy Chief or Deputy Chief of Maoists in Kaski Municipality
